Now that you’ve cleaned out your beauty products and reduced the size of your inventory, there is a good chance that you’ve figured out the reason you had so many was because the ones you had didn’t work for you.
It is time to start trying new products or even double check on some of those you don’t remember why you hung on to even after they were nearly empty. What is the best way to do that without spending a small fortune again? Samples and coupons.
Sounds easy enough, but coupons are usually easier to gather than samples are. Determine which products you really want to test. Do your homework – in other words, look through articles about specific products, read the reviews on product pages and see what others say about the items. If all you see on a particular website are great reviews, dig a little deeper.
Check other products within that same product line and see if there are any that give both sides of the story. A perfect example of this is the Neutrogena Line of beauty and anti-aging products. Neutrogena has multiple products and the company allows all consumer comments to stay posted – even the negative ones. Olay is another company that leaves both positive and negative comments to stay in the comment sections of their product reviews.
It is always a good sign if a company allows both positive and negative feedback. Those that allow only positive feedback should raise red flags for you.
Nearly all major anti-aging products offer free samples on their websites. Most of the time you will have to register for them and they will ask if you’d like to receive their newsletters, emails regarding new products, sales etc – but you can easily select no or wait until they arrive in your inbox and then unsubscribe from them.
One of the best ways to try lots of new anti-aging products without the expense of buying the smallest sizes of them is to get the samples. Sometimes it can be time consuming to go to all the sites but if you narrow down to a half a dozen or even a dozen that you want to try – it won’t take that long at all.
Get a decent selection not only of different product lines but product types as well. Anti-aging wrinkle creams are different than anti-aging cleansing products. Collect samples of each.
If you cannot find samples of the exact product you’d like to try, gather some coupons. They are offered regularly in print, such as newspapers or weekly circulars but also directly from the company websites.
Coupons can be a valuable tool for stretching your beauty dollars. If you wait until the product is already on sale and/or your store has a double coupon day, the value of those coupons will rapidly increase.
Just because beauty is a multi-billion dollar industry, it doesn’t mean you have to spend a small fortune to be beautiful!
